How to Install Fabric API

  • Step 1:Download the Fabric API

    • Go to Modrinth or CurseForge

      • Head over to one of these trusted platforms to download the Fabric API:


    • Select the Correct Minecraft Version

      • Choose the Fabric API version that matches your Minecraft version. For example, if you’re playing Minecraft 1.20, download the corresponding version of the Fabric API.


    • Download the Fabric API

      • Download the .jar file for the Fabric API from either of these websites.

  • Step 2: Install the Fabric API

    • Find Your Minecraft Mods Folder

      • Navigate to your Minecraft installation directory and locate the mods folder:

      • Windows:
        • WIN+R, Type "%appdata%" and you should find, \.minecraft\mods

      • macOS:
        • ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods

      • Linux:
        • ~/.minecraft/mods

      If the mods folder doesn’t exist, simply create one.

    • Move the Fabric API File

      • Take the downloaded Fabric API .jar file and place it into the mods folder.

  • Step 3: Launch Minecraft

    • Open the Minecraft Launcher

      • Start the Minecraft launcher and make sure the Fabric Loader profile is selected.

    • Play Minecraft

      • Click Play to launch Minecraft. The game will automatically detect the Fabric API and any other mods placed in the mods folder.

    All done!

    Your Fabric API is now installed, and you're ready to enjoy Fabric-based mods!
